Yo Clockface! in Oakland, California is the work of Aron Rosenberg. A licensed architect, Aron never lost his love for sculpture,
and soon after making his first clock in 1987, he set aside architecture and Yo Clockface! was born. In Twenty years , Aron
has constructed and sold more than 6000 clocks.
These unusual clocks are formed, cast,
and sculpted out of a fine grain reduced-weight concrete. Keeping to a palette of grey and black, the concrete base serves
as a canvas for irridescent and stained glass, stone and inset brass and copper , and the delicate jeweled clock hands crafted
from copper enamel, wire, niobium coils and precious gemstones. The only elements not designed in full are the high quality
quartz motor and the crisp beveled protective glass face.
Each clock carries a lifetime
of the artist guarantee for all parts. If a Yo Clockface clock becomes damaged in any way, Aron will repair it at no charge.
Aron
also creates an assortment of decorative boxes and menorahs for Yo Clockface!, crafted from the same elements of grey and
black concrete and stained glass as his clocks. Influences ranging from Art Deco, the Russian Constructivists , architectural
details, & the Mayans to the work of Frank Gehry, result in a unique look that is surprising and beautiful.
Aron
lives with his wife, silversmith Jeannie Haydon, and their ten year old daughter Ruby.
